Cybersecurity Awareness Session – 31st July 2025 | Tumakuru

We are thrilled to share that our Cybersecurity Awareness Session held in collaboration with Startup Tumakuru, Tumakuru Smart City Limited , and Sri Siddhartha School of Engineering, was a resounding success.

The event was well received by participants of all age groups, highlighting the growing interest and need for digital safety in today’s technology-driven world.

Mr. Ashok K.V. is the Superintendent of Police (SP) for Tumkur district in Karnataka, India., emphasized how technology is improving our lives but also warned about its misuse—especially as people across age groups fall prey to cyber threats in this age of social media addiction and endless scrolling.

Mrs. Ashwija B.V. is an IAS officer currently serving as the Managing Director & CEO of Tumakuru Smart City Limited and also the Commissioner of Tumakuru Municipal Corporation., proudly shared how Tumakuru city stands out as one of India’s top nominated Smart Cities. She detailed how surveillance technology and smart infrastructure are being used to proactively deter unethical activities across the city.

Our session continued with a powerful address by Nandi Dharma Kishore HN , Founder & CEO of Ashtaksha Labs, who shared insights on Cyber-enabled economic disruptions—focusing on the alarming rise of Fake banking apps. He also gave a live demonstration on how these malicious apps operate, helping participants recognize and avoid such threats.
